- ½ cantaloupe melon cut into chunks
- 2 small peaches de-stoned
- ½ cup coconut milk
- 1 teaspoon almond butter or other nut or seed butter, optional
- 1.5 teaspoon milled chia seed
- ½ teaspoon maple syrup
- ice to preference
Add all the ingredients to a nutribullet or blender and blend to a smoothie consistency, using 1 teaspoon of the milled chia. Add ice to preference. Pour into a glass or mason jar and sprinkle some milled chia on top.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
- I use cantaloupe melon, but others such as honeydew would also be refreshing for summer!
- It can be helpful to pour the milk in first to help prevent sticking of the other ingredients to the blender.
- Adjust the amount of ice, if using, to taste preference.

Swiss Interest Group Histamine Intolerance (SIGHI) food list
All ingredients in this recipe score a '0' on the SIGHI scale with the exception of almonds (in the almond butter), which score a '1'. If you you prefer not to eat almonds, then pumpkin seed butter is a good alternative. Melon has a ? as a liberator and the SIGHI list states this is an occasional effect, possibly due to pollutant or pesticide exposure.
