Equipment

  • Muddler or wooden spoon
  • Cherry stone pitter or straw

Ingredients

  • 12 cherries fresh or frozen (thawed)
  • 4 mint leaves
  • sparkling water
  • ice

Instructions

  • Use a cherry pitter or straw to remove the stones from the cherries. Slice the cherries into quarters (or smaller if the cherries are larger in size).
  • Add the cherries and the mint leaves to your glasses. Use a muddler or wooden spoon to mash the cherries so they release their juices and break down into small pieces.
  • Tip ice cubes into your glasses, then top with sparkling water. Garnish with a fresh cherry and mint leaves and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use fresh ripe cherries so they break down and release their juices. Under-ripe cherries won't be as soft.
  • Frozen cherries can also be used, just be sure to thaw them before use.
