- 5 cups apple juice or apple cider
- ¼ cup pomegranate juice
- 5 slices root ginger peeled
- 4 cloves
- 1 teaspoon cardamom
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
Pour the apple juice and pomegranate juice into a large pot. Add in the peeled slices of root ginger, cloves, cardamom and maple syrup. Slices of fresh apple can also be added to the pot. Stir well.
Turn up the heat so the apple juice mixture gets hot, and is just under a simmer. Reduce the heat to low to medium and heat for 20 minutes.
Ladle into your serving glasses or mugs and enjoy!
- If you are sensitive to bottled juices, I suggest to juice the apples and make pomegranate juice yourself. Pomegranate juice can be made be blending the seeds for a few moments, then straining through a fine mesh sieve to remove the hard seed.
- Adjust the amount of spice and maple syrup to taste preference.
