🍎 Ingredients
All the ingredients and their quantities are set out in the recipe card below.
Some notes on a few of them:
- Cottage cheese - I tend to use full-fat cottage cheese as it has a creamier taste, but you can use the type you prefer. If you like a smoother texture, you can whip cottage cheese in the blender before use.
- Apple - I suggest to use a red apple such as Honey Crisp for a sweet taste, or green apple for a more tart flavor.
- Cardamon - to add a little spice. Cinnamon can also be used, if you tolerate it well.
📖 Swaps and Variations
Add more fruit! For a cottage cheese and fruit bowl you can of course add berries, pear, mango or pomegranate, depending on what works for you!
Top with some granola or fruit sauce. A handful of my chia seed granola would give a nice crunch, and my apple blueberry sauce is so easy to make.

💭 Recipe Tips and Notes
- Grate and dice the apple just before serving as it can brown quickly.
- Make this a mixed cottage cheese and fruit bowl by adding other berries or fruits!
- I tend to use cardamom as I love the flavor, but cinnamon can also be used. Just note that it is a debated spice if you're a low histamine reader.
