These air fryer frozen vegetables are fun, colorful and such a quick veggie side dish! If you're out of fresh veggies, then head to the freezer to cook up some from frozen in less than 20 minutes.

If there's one thing my air fryer gets used for over and over again, it's to make easy veggie side dishes (and air fryer diced potatoes too!). Similarly to my air fryer baby carrots and air fryer leeks, these air fryer frozen veggies are adult and kid-friendly and add some color to your plate!
Using frozen veggies is particularly good for a busy day, or when you've not had time to run to the store. Heading to the freezer is one of my hacks for a difficult day, and recipes such as my air fryer frozen cod and frozen cauliflower rice are on repeat in my home!

🥕 Ingredients

All the ingredients and their quantities are set out in the recipe card below.
Some notes on a few of them:
- Frozen vegetables - you can either used frozen mixed vegetables or combine individual packages. As I'm low histamine, I stick to suitable veggies such as carrots, corn, cauliflower and broccoli.
- Olive oil - this helps get crispy vegetables with a little browning.
- Dried thyme - I suggest to add some seasoning to give extra flavor!
- Garlic powder - this is optional, but gives a nice flavor.
🔪 How to Cook Frozen Vegetables in an Air Fryer
It's so easy to make air fryer frozen vegetables, so head to the freezer and pantry and let's cook up a quick veggie side dish!
All the instructions are set out in the recipe card below, but these step by step photos should help guide you.

Step 1: Season the veggies
Add the frozen vegetables to a bowl and drizzle over the olive oil. Then sprinkle over the dried thyme and garlic powder. Use your hands or tongs to toss the veggies to coat in the oil and seasonings (image 1).

Step 2: Add the frozen veggies to the air fryer basket
Transfer the frozen vegetables to your air fryer basket. Spread them out so they aren't heaped too much to allow the air to circulate for even cooking (image 2).

Step 3: Air fry the frozen vegetables
Air fry the frozen veggies so they are soft and have the amount of char you like, roughly 13-16 minutes (image 3). Shake the basket half way through the cook time and check the vegetables in the last few minutes of cook time as they are small in size and so can go from lightly browned to overly browned very quickly.
💭 Recipe Tips and Notes
- Don't thaw the veggies! We are cooking right from frozen, and if they thaw first they'll have a shorter cook time.
- Spread out in the air fryer basket. There can be some overlap, but try not to heap the veggies up too much so the air can circulate.
- Keep checking the veggies. As they are small in size, they have a fairly short cook time and can turn fast, so keep checking the veggies in the last few minutes and cook to preference for softness and level of browning.
- Adjust the cook time. I did a recipe test with far less vegetables and made the mistake of not adjusting the cook time and got burnt veggies (never what you want!). If using less vegetables, then you want to reduce the air frying time (cook in intervals of 2-3 minutes).

- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
